June events at Brooklyn Public Library branches

June 21, 2011

Summer Reading Kickoff at the Brooklyn Public Library

UPDATE: This is a repost from May because we thought you might like a reminder!

Brooklyn Public Library is the perfect place to not only cool off this summer, but to gear up for summer fun.  The BPL has hundreds of free events taking place this June from workshops to activities across the borough. Families should mark their calendars for the annual Summer Reading Kick-Off at Central Library on Thursday, June 9. The all-day, family-friendly event will feature live music, performances and a special celebrity reading.  Like in years past, the event will take place on Brooklyn/Queens Day when all public school students are out of school.
**After a quick count, NEW UTRECHT LIBRARY, has the most library events schedule of ANY of the libraries! Kudos to them.

Please note, programs are subject to change. Be sure to call your local library to confirm event details.
