Come explore with Brooklyn’s most creative summer camp. Our faculty of artists, engineers, and craftspeople share their own practice with kids, from woodworking and electronics to moviemaking, digital media, and handcraft. It’s an inclusive community of learning, doing, and making that encourages collaboration and experimentation.
Kids will explore a single concept, theme, or raw material through different media and creative practices with Beam Center’s faculty. Past themes have included: Wood, Color, The Future, Balance, and Interactive Art. Campers have written plays, performed with life-size puppets, and built sensory installations and motion-controlled electric dioramas. Our faculty are artists, designers, filmmakers musicians, engineers, storytellers, makers and big idea people; all are practitioners and experts from across the creative landscape. Kids will make connections between the disciplines they explore and collaboratively document their discoveries and creations! Each week is different.
Summer Day Camp starts the week of July 6 and runs weekly through August 28. Camp runs 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with drop-off beginning at 8:00 AM and pick up until 5:30 PM. Kids bring their own lunches, and Beam provides two snacks each day. Tuition is $600, or $575 per week if you sign up for multiple weeks (including Midwinter and Spring Breaks!). It’s open to kids in grades 2 through 6. Tuition Assistance is available to qualifying families.
