Jumpstart Your Digital Media Career with Indie Media Camp
Brooklyn Based’s Indie Media Camp, an annual boot camp for writers, editors, and indie publishers, is two days away. If you would like to expand your social media know-how, get a handle on the current freelance marketplace, and learn from NYC’s top media makers, clear your calendar and hire a sitter for Wednesday, Nov. 4.
This day of learning and networking at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP in Dumbo combines classes that will expand your skill set and talks that will inspire new approaches to your work. You’ll take three different courses that will change the way you think about social media, sharpen your photography skills, and introduce you to podcasting, in addition to attending panel discussions with some of the brightest minds in media.
Clifford Levy, the mastermind behind the excellent news app, NYT Now, will deliver a keynote and Q&A in the morning, and staff and writers from BuzzFeed, Bustle, Medium, Gothamist, Northside Media, and The Awl will be part of panel discussions on the state of freelancing and what it means to make it in media in 2015.
Throughout, your breakfast, lunch and a happy hour with snacks will be covered so you can connect and network with these fantastic guests.
