Easter Egg Hunts in Brooklyn and NYC 2013

There is nothing more fun than watching a bunch of kids let loose to run after colorful eggs.  Whether the eggs are filled with jelly beans, stickers or something else, each one found is a sweet treasure. The list of Egg Hunts below is organized by date. Happy Hunting and Happy Easter!

Saturday March 30th

Brooklyn Boulders Easter Egg Hunt – 9-12 (Gowanas) – $10/person, ages 5-12.

Brooklyn Heights Spring Egg Hunt – 10am (Brooklyn Heights) Every spring, hundreds of little bunnies and their families turn out to participate in our annual Egg Hunt at Pierrepont Playground. Candy, treats, balloons and good friends have made this a holiday tradition for many families! Pierrepont Playground Columbia Heights and Pierrepont Streets (on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade)

Egg Hunt – 11am (Williamsburg) $5 McGolrick Park

Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo annual Egg–stravaganza – 11am-4pm (Queens) Activities include spring-themed games, egg hunts, and real rabbit encounters on the zoo’s farm.

Barnyard Easter Egg Hunt – 12-4 (Queens) Queens County Farm – The quintessential farm in NYC hosts their annual Easter Festival with a bunny, egg hunts, Bunny Hop dancing, and egg toss and egg rolling games on the lawn with farm animal visits and a hayride.  Egg hunts will be ongoing throughout the day, “Whiskers” the bunny will be hopping around the farm to greet children and pose for pictures, bring your camera. $5/person

STORK’S FIRST EASTER EGG HUNT – 12pm-2:00pm (Crown Heights) Join us as we host our first-ever Easter egg hunt! Tons of eggs hidden all over the store filled with tons of goodies to satisfy any child. Bring your basket! We’ll take care of the rest. Free.  Receive 10% off your in-store clothing and shoe purchase. Discount excludes sale items.  

Shore Road Park Easter Egg Hunt – 2pm (Bay Ridge)

Sunday March 31st

The New York City Easter Parade – 10am-4pm – Free – This has been an annual tradition since Civil War days and features marchers in elaborate Easter finery, including some of the fanciest Easter bonnets imaginable. The parade begins at Fifth Avenue and 47th Street near St. Patrick’s Cathedral and continues up Fifth to 57th Street.

Urban Meadow 5th Annual Spring Egg Hunt – 10-12 (Columbia Waterfront) Bring your kids down to the cutest neighborhood egg hunt around – the Columbia Waterfront District’s Annual Spring Egg Hunt.  For double the fun we’ll be using the Urban Meadow for the littlest participants – babies-age four and kids five and up will be in next door Mother Cabrini Playground.  There’ll be baked treats, and Urban Meadow t-shirts!  So bring your baskets and don’t be late! Urban Meadow community garden and Mother Cabrini playground, corner of President and Van Brunt Streets.

Community Easter Egg Hunt at St. Luke and St. Matthew10:30 a.m.
The hunt begins promptly at 10:30 am and then they will have a Family-friendly Easter service with full Choir, Organ, Tympani and Trumpet. I did go to their Christmas service for children and was totally impressed with how thoughtfully they did the childrens’ crafts and a special meaningful service for the children and parents. My favorite Christmas Eve service ever, actually.
