Dr. Gilgoff is our Expert Pediatrician on the site: he has given us all advice on everything from fever to the new dosing instructions for Acetaminophen. Today, we have a more personal post from Dr. Gilgoff. His practice, LICH Pediatrics, is moving from Long Island College Hospital (LICH) to Mt. Sinai in Brooklyn Heights. Mt. Sinai in Brooklyn?! Yes! Mt. Sinai put in over $20 million to gut renovate 75,000 square feet of the former Goldman Sachs space in downtown Brooklyn. That’s big news for the former LICH Pediatrics practice and for us Brooklynites.
*The new group name will become BHMSMG (Brooklyn Heights Mount Sinai Medical Group). They are seeing patients at their current location through December 31st, 2012.
This just in from Dr. Hugh Gilgoff:
UPDATE! DR. GILGOFF IS CHANGING OFFICES!
As of January 1, 2013, Dr. Gilgoff and his colleagues, Drs. Aronov, Messinger and Turner, will be moving around the corner to a state-of-the-art, brand new space. We will be joining a wonderful group of Mt. Sinai physicians at 1 Pierrepont Plaza, on the corner of Pierrepont and Court Streets.
Our patients will benefit from this move in many ways. We will be increasing our availability significantly; instead of rotating responsibilities at SUNY/LICH, the four of us will spend all of our time at this new practice. We will be there Monday through Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m., and we will also offer Saturday hours, effective immediately. In the near future, we will begin offering Sunday hours as well for urgent care. Special time slots will be reserved for newborns.
We will also be implementing a top-of-the-line electronic medical records system. You’ll be able to book same-day sick visits online. If you should need to call the office, however, a courteous, live person will be available to answer the phone. We’ll still have our 24/7/365 evening emergency on-call system, staffed by myself and the other three pediatricians, and we’ll be supported by a wonderful team of nurses, medical assistants and office managers.
At the new office, there will be an onsite laboratory. This means we’ll be able to draw blood at our facility and run most routine tests right on the spot, with results in less than an hour. We are honored to have the academic support of a top-notch institution in Mt. Sinai Hospital, and we’ll also reap the benefits of having Westmed Practice Partners organize and implement our systems, as well as run most of the day-to-day operations of this venture. I promise, however, that we’ll still maintain our personal touch.
I am so happy that Drs. Aronov, Messinger, Turner and I are making the move together. We’ll become a part of a wonderful team of physicians for adults, specializing in every medical field you can imagine. We’ll have onsite X-rays and CT scans, with in-house radiologists available to give us immediate results when fractures or pneumonia are a concern.
For more information, to book an appointment, or to get in touch with Dr. Gilgoff, please call (929) 210-6000. Our new office is located on the 17th floor of 1 Pierrepont Plaza. I look forward to seeing you and your family soon!
