Free Workshop on Pre-K and K in Brooklyn TONIGHT

December 6, 2012

Feeling anxious about starting the school admission process with your pre-K or Kindergartner? You are in luck because tonight you can learn all about neighborhood schools from the fabulous Pamela Wheaton, Insideschools managing editor. Pamela Wheaton has been on staff at Insideschools since 2002, serving as deputy director, project director, and, now, managing editor. She edits the blog, has visited and reviewed hundreds of schools and leads workshops about school choice. She collaborated with Clara Hemphill on a series of guides to New York City’s best public schools. She knows her schools!

Pamela will speak on charter schools, gifted and talented programs, dual language programs, unzoned schools, and services for children with special needs.

Kristi Barlow, founder of http://www.nycschoolmaps.com, will be on hand with a copy of zone maps for parts of Brooklyn, including zoning changes in Park Slope affecting PS 321, PS 107, PS 10 and PS 133.

The event will take place tonight, Thursday, Dec. 6, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Brooklyn Free Space 298 Sixth Avenue, Brooklyn.
