No Shopping Necessary: Pop Up Thanksgiving with CSA

If you are feeling overwhelmed with the idea of shopping for a Thanksgiving meal but excited to cook it- then you are in luck.  A local CSA is offering shares from local farms that have been curated specifically for Thanksgiving: free range turkeys, organic vegetables, farm-fresh cider and more.  There are pick up locations throughout Brooklyn and in the East Village in addition to a delivery options to Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn residents.

Local Roots NYC
is offering a Pop Up Thanksgiving CSA, selected for the Turkey-Day needs of non-members and members.  Choose from whole turkeys, fresh vegetables, fruit, homemade bread, ciders, cheeses, desserts and more, which you can cater specifically to your own Thanksgiving menu. Participants of the CSA will also receive a specially made tote bag.

Pick-up locations in Brooklyn include 61 Local in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain in Carroll Gardens, and Diamond Bar in Greenpoint. Manhattan pick-ups are available at Jimmy’s No. 43 in the East Village.

Local Roots NYC is accepting orders up through Friday, October 26.
Orders are submitted via an online form. Payment is conveniently accepted online via Google Wallet or by check. Checks should be written and sent out to: Local Roots NYC, 101 Warren Street, #A3e, Brooklyn, NY, 11201

Half shares are available for feeding 4-6 people while full shares feed 7-10 guests.

All natural, free range or roaming, cage free, 100 percent vegetarian feed, USDA inspected turkeys come from Di Paola Turkey farm, a second generation family farm in Hamilton Township, NJ. Vegetables naturally grown on Rogowski Farm of Pine Island, NY may include sweet potatoes, potatoes, onions, celery, butternut squash, carrots, beets, cauliflower, broccoli, and fresh herbs.
