July 15, 2012

This Wednesday is a home run for kids’ concert goers: start your morning with a free concert in Fort Greene Park’s grove and after lunch and a snooze, head to Carroll Park for some contemporary bluegrass. End your day with a picnic and a run through Carroll Park’s sprinklers.

Music in the Grove’ concert series at Fort Greene Park is one the best concert series in Brooklyn for  kids. There’s ample stroller parking, room for dancing and shady area to plant your blanket and watch the show. This Wednesday, you can hear the sweet voice of Suzi Shelton as she sings her narrative and bouncy songs while you lay back in the grass.

Carroll Park is more of a “standing room” show where kids mill about while dancing and grooving. Bring your bathing suits to cool off afterwards- the sprinklers here are some of our favorites.
