New Daycare Opens with Play Based Arts Program

April 12, 2012

Over the last five years, I have visited loads of daycares and schools for the blog, so it’s exciting when I can suggest a daycare that I think is worth looking into for your child.  Sitters Studio, a well respected sitting service with a recently opened daycare in Carroll Gardens is expanding with a second location in the same neighborhood. From my research, I think this new location is the former address of Honeydew Drop, another daycare with 3 locations in Brooklyn.

The new daycare is called Bela Studio and is named after Bela Bartok, the classical Hungarian composer. Like their other daycare, Cassatt Studio Daycare, they will have a  “play based arts curriculum (that) encourages the children to develop all the skills they need to prepare for kindergarten.”

Their belief is that, “Whether it is learning colors with Mondrian, practicing gross motor skills with “The Nutcracker” or understanding math concepts of high/low and more/less with Prokofiev, our belief is that great art can foster great learning.”

The Studio Daycare program is set up to accept children as young as 1.5 years up to 5 years. They offer part-time care options of:  Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday. Each day, drop off begins at 8AM until 9AM and pick up begins at 4:30PM until 6PM. Included with that are 2 meals and 2 snacks per day all of which are made from organic/natural food products.

The Bela Studio will be holding an open house on Sunday, April 15th from 10 am – 12 pm.  Bring your family as they will have art available for the perspective children and their siblings.   They have only a few spots for enrollment so they suggest that interested parents bring the application with them.
