There is nothing more fun than watching a bunch of kids let loose to run after colorful eggs.  Whether the eggs are filled with jelly beans, stickers or something else, each one found is a sweet treasure.

SATURDAY, MARCH 31ST


DUMBO Spring Fling at Brooklyn Bridge Park-  Saturday, March 31st, 10:30 a.m.– 1 p.m.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park celebrates spring with musical performances by AudraRox and The Wiyos, storytelling, face painting, and yoga with Karma Kids Yoga. The Brooklyn Bridge Park Bunny will make an appearance, and kids will be encouraged to take part in egg decorating and games! You can make a boat with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92, ride Jane’s Carousel (first 100 rides free), and make solar powered bracelets.  Join NY Transit Museum at their table for a fun activity. And visit the Inventgenuity Workshop Mobile Studio and a chance to meet some of the masters of invention as they present their latest projects and allow you can create projects with insprired makers. Carl Schurz Park Egg Hunt- Saturday, March 31st: 12- 2 pm (rain date: Sunday, April 1)
More than 200-children will hop over to Carl Schurz Park in Manhattan to hunt for 20,000 Easter Eggs and rock out to Moey’s Music Party’s free Easter-themed concert. This year there will be three hunts: 12:00 PM, 12:20 PM, 12:40 PM. Come decorate an egg collecting bag AND get your face painted by Sheila J.  The Carl Schurz Bunny will be bouncing around and available for pictures. From 1-2:00 PM there will be a concert with Moey’s Music Party in the Playground. Free

Dyker Park Easter Egg Hunt- Saturday, March 31, 2012, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
This Easter Egg hunt is a huge one and also includes games, music, activities and prizes for the children. The event is being co-sponsored by Congressman Michael Grimm, the 13th Avenue Merchants and the Dyker Heights Civic Association.

Easter Bunny at J&R Jr. Saturday, March 31st: 1- 6 pm
Bring the little ones in for a free picture with the Easter Bunny from 1pm to 6pm. There will be free Arts & Crafts for kids courtesy of Lazoo available both days. In addition,  J&R Jr. with the help of the New York City Rescue Mission will be
accepting donations of non-perishable food items for individuals and families in need. As a special thank you to the first thousand donors, J&R Jr. will be giving away a $5 J&R Gift Card. The drive will be active on both March 31st and April 1st with stations at 1 Park Row and 23 Park Row so please give what you can. They will also give away free gifts including Jelly Beans! All giveaways are one per customer and quantities are limited.

Eco Egg Hunt – Sunday, April 1st: 11 am- 5 pm
Mini Jake owner Inga Rogers, has created her very own eco egg hunt by reusing egg shaped packaging and filling it with goodies for you to find with your child.  Local mom photographer Stephanie Keith will be on hand to take your spring portraits for $25. You will get two 4×6 prints or a disc with all the shots she takes on the spot. Stephanie is a documentary and journalist photographer whose work has been published in the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Time, CBS News, ABC New, the Guardian, among others. Along with the photo portraits and egg hunt, Mini Jake will be raffling off basket full of great goodies including Skip Hop bunny hair and brush set, Jelly Cat big bunny, MiYim soft toys, bowl and utensil set from Boon and a copy of Knuffle Bunny!

Power House Kids Easter Party at PowerHouse Arena on Sunday, April 1st from 4:00pm — 5:00pm

Marine Park Easter Egg Hunt- Sunday, April 1st, 2012, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
his Easter Egg hunt is a huge one and also includes games, music, activities and prizes for the children. Look out for events like egg spoon race, freeze dance, a temporary tattoo station, dj, goodie bags for everyone, The event is being co-sponsored by the Community Emergency Response Team and the Southwest Brooklyn Parks Task Force.

Good Friday Family Mass at Trinity ChurchFriday, April 6th at 4:30pm

SATURDAY, APRIL 7TH

The Queens County Farm Museum Easter Festival- Saturday April 7th 12- 4 pm.
The quintessential farm in NYC hosts their annual Easter Festival with a bunny, egg hunts, Bunny Hop dancing, and egg toss and egg rolling games on the lawn with farm animal visits and a hayride.  Egg hunts will be ongoing throughout the day, “Whiskers” the bunny will be hopping around the farm to greet children and pose for pictures, bring your camera.

Spring Egg Hunt at Pierrepont Playground- Saturday, April 7th: 10 am SHARP (raindate, Sunday, April 8th at 10 am)
Candy, treats, bake sale, face painters, balloons and good friends have made this an annual tradition for many families! This year, the all volunteer BHPC is working hard to make it to be a wonderful repeat of years past. All proceeds will benefit the Brooklyn Heights Playground Committee.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Aviator Sports and Events CenterSaturday, April 7th from 10:00am — 2:00pm
YUMMY! I’m getting hungry just thinking about this! You can enjoy a full breakfast buffet including scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, waffles, coffee, tea and juice. Children will receive a goodie bag filled with Easter candy! You will also have the opportunity to have a photo taken with the Easter Bunny for $5.

Town Square Easter Egg Hunt and Party- Saturday, April 7th: 10 am
Town Square is hosting their first egg hunt and party at McGolrick Park. Hunt for eggs in the park and then head to the party to the Church of the Messiah.  There will be music, dancing, arts/crafts, refreshments.

Easter Egg Hunt at Brooklyn Boulders- Saturday, April 7th: 8:30 am- 9:30 am
Brooklyn Boulders is hosting their second annual  Easter Egg hunt where you can scale the walls in search of easter eggs to exchange for candy!  There will be hundreds of eggs, but they go fast, so be sure to come at 8:30 sharp! Get your tickets here.

Easter Egg Hunt at Jacob’s LadderSaturday, April 7th at 1:00pm
There’s loads of fun in store at this Easter Egg Hunt organized by parent volunteers.. In addition to the the hunt, there will be games, an arts and crafts table, and face painting! Talk about a celebration!

SUNDAY, APRIL 8TH


Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet FestivalSunday, April 8th from 10:00am — 4:00pm
Each year on Easter the best of the bonnets are showcased along Fifth Avenue as New Yorkers celebrate the holiday by roaming the streets in their most festive spring gear from 10am to 4pm. The parade marches north on Fifth Avenue, starting at 49th Street, but the best place to watch is from the area around St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Community Easter Egg Hunt at St. Luke and St. Matthew – Sunday, April 8th: 10:30 a.m.
The hunt begins promptly at 10:30 am in All Saint’s chapel and will extend outside into the church gardens (weather permitting) and then they will have a Family-friendly Easter service with full Choir, Organ, Tympani and Trumpet. We went to this last year and loved the warm welcome we all received. There were plenty of eggs to share and all stuffed with wonderful goodies of stickers and do-dads. The other families were lovely – it was a peaceful egg hunt. The service was full of other children too. It was a very lovely way to celebrate Easter.

Eco-Easter: DIY Craft Workshop & Scavenger Hunt- Sunday, April 8th: 2-5 pm

Trinity Wall Street Easter- Sunday, April 8th: 12:30- 2:30 pm
Celebrates Easter with scavenger and egg hunts, a puppet parade, a visit from the Easter Bunny, plus lots of other family fun.  In the South Churchyard: Easter egg hunts for children 6 years and under, beginning at 12:30pm. Children can hunt for plastic eggs with candy inside hidden around the churchyard. In the North Churchyard: A super scavenger hunt for kids older than 6 years. Every child gets a prize at the end. Also in the North Churchyard, for children of all ages: digital photos with the Easter Bunny; games and crafts, including making your own Easter bonnet/hat; and music by Bari Koral Band.

Friends of Underhill Playground Easter Egg Hunt – Sunday, April 8: 10:30am – 12 pm.
Here’s how it works: Every family that can-  should bring one or two dozen plastic eggs filled with a toy, tattoo, treat, etc. You can show up whenever you like, but whenever there is a critical mass of adults (hopefully, around 10:30), the adults will hide eggs. And then the kids go hunting!  Parents of older kids help make sure that there are some eggs left for the younger ones.

Greenpoint Reformed Church Easter- Sunday, April 8th: 11 am – 7 pm
