What does high stakes testing mean for us as parents, for our schools, teachers and children? This Monday, a panel of experts with diverse viewpoints will present their thoughts and answer questions about high stakes testing.
I found this great quote from an article about high stake testing in the Village Voice from 2010. “The more a test affects decision making, the more likely it will lead to corruption. In particular, wrote (sociologist Donald Campbell), “when test scores become the goal of the teaching process, they both lose their value as indicators of educational status and distort the educational process in undesirable ways.” Is this what is happening?
