10:00 am: Who’s Got the Beat?
Discover the movement behind the music as Buzz the Bee, Toot the Bird and Bow the Panda join an orchestra for a performance filled with laughs and discovery.

10:00 am: VH1 Save the Music Foundation Family Day
Celebrate everything musical during this daylong festival. While feature performances by Mat Kearney, Hanson, Hot Peas ‘N Butter and more notable artists are sure to have families singing and dancing.

10:00 am: Halloween Opera Workshop
Celebrate Halloween with a musical afternoon. Kids are invited to watch a live performance from opera singer Madam Violetta. Following the performance, kids can learn songs from popular shows like Phantom of the Opera. Pre-registration is required.

10:30 am: Brooklyn Bridge Park Harvest Festival
This Harvest Festival features a Halloween parade, musical guests, face painting, storytelling, art activities, mask making and pumpkin decorating. On the stage, you can check out musical performances by Erin Lee and the Up Past Bedtime Band at 10:30 am and The Pop Ups at 12:00 pm. For more info, go here.

11:00 am: Wake Up Clarinet!
The acclaimed clarinetist and local music instructor Oran Etkin stops by Symphony Space to share his award-winning album for kids, Wake Up Clarinet! As part of Symphony Space’s weekly “Just Kidding” series, Etkin will lead an upbeat morning of jazz especially for kids, featuring “Clara Net” the clarinet, “Big Mama Tuba,” and their friends as they take a musical journey all around the world.

12:00 pm: Dancing Through The Light: An Autumn Celebration
Forget a packed theatre! Experience the skills of Dance Parade in the great outdoors. Performed among the trees and lakes and framed by the radiant light of the autumn sky, this celebration of world dance will illuminate many cultures and traditions. This unique performance will have audiences on their feet – literally!

This free event celebrates the holiday in a hip way with music, prizes and refreshments.

12:00 pm: Kidrockers Presents DATAROCK and Cookies
Get ready to rock and roll during this kid-friendly concert. DATAROCK will get kids jumping with their electro-rock style, while the smooth sounds New York based band Cookies will bring them back to mellow. Parents must accompany children to this afternoon concert.

1:00 pm: Encuentro Family Day
Listen to the joyous sounds of the Colombia with concerts from groups along the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. Along with the concert, you and your loved ones can enjoy authentic Colombian food, crafts and other activities designed for any age.

1:30 pm: Play’s the Thing: Move and Groove at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan
A sample from the stage. New Vic teaching artists come to CMOM to host a mini-workshop for kids. Inspired by UnTapped, New Victory’s November play, this workshop will channel your child’s inner performers..

3:00 pm: Harlem Stage Family Series: Shine and the Moonbeams
Stomp, shake and sing along with Shine and the Moonbeams. This NYC kid-friendly band performs songs the whole family will enjoy. From classical soul to modern hip-hop, Shine and the Moonbeams’ music covers every genre and and captures the sweetness and simplicity of youth.

4:00 pm: The Dirty Sock Funtime Band, Featuring Cardone The Ultimate Vaudeville Magician at PS89’s Rock & Roll Fundraiser
The Dirty Sock Funtime Band returned to Battery Park Citi’s P.S. 89 for an incredible, high-energy rock & roll concert (for kids and families). This year, THE DIRTY SOCKS bring with them Cardone, the ultimate vaudeville magician.  This concert is a fundraiser that will benefit the P.S. 89 PTA and the school.

8:00 pm: Kids’ Night Out: Rockin’ Jamfest
Musical city kids can show off their talents by creating a band, writing a song, and crafting costumes and instruments. Then, each group will perform its act. Dinner is included in the price.

Sunday October 24th

10:00 am: Moey’s Music Party Concert
Grab the costumes and get ready to rock as JCC presents another Moey’s Music Party Concert. A kid favorite, Moey’s Music Party educates kids while entertaining them through song and dance. In honor of the band’s new CD, Happily Ever Moey! A Fairy Tale Lark in Central Park, kids are encouraged to dress like a favorite fairy tale character. The most creative costumes will win prizes!

11:00 am: Harvest Hootenanny
The Friends of Greenwood Playground are sponsoring this free event for the kids. There will be musical performances by Debbie Deane, Miss Katie, and demonstrations by Cynthia King’s dancers. There will also be face painting, pumpkin painting, book making and a canned food drive.

11:00 am: Alastair Moock
The Boston-based singer-songwriter celebrates the release of his second album for kids, These Are My Friends, with his NYC debut performance of its folksy, rollicking songs.

11:00 am: Riverdale Festival of the Arts
Celebrate all things artistic during this day-long festival. This free event hosts musical talents like saxophonist Eric Alexander, the Bronx Arts Ensemble and rock band Sweet Fix. Enjoy the music while taking in various theatres and visual art exhibits.

Introduce your kids to the joys of jazz at the Jazz Standard’s weekly Sunday brunch program. The Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra, made up of talented youngsters between the ages of 11 and 18, provides the music, while your family chows down on a barbecue brunch from Blue Smoke.
