Pregnant? New online network has resources for you

June 23, 2010

I have always liked the Choices in Childbirth guide: Guide to a Healthy Birth. Sometimes it was hard to find, but I always treasured it as a real resource for childbirthing and all mom-related needs. I still have mine from 2006, dog-eared and highlighted. (They now have it available online).

I guess I can throw that one away now that they have started a Healthy Birth online provider network. Put your zip code in, select your category (acupuncture, bodywork, breastfeeding support, chiropractic care, etc) and check the box to see if they accept insurance or will barter (!)…then, you get a list of providers.

After testing it a few times, it worked flawlessly. I selected the category of Midwives for my zip code in Brooklyn: a list of 10 midwives popped up- 8 of whom I knew and all of which are in our Directory too. It’s a good, respected group.

Thank you Choices in Childbirth for a great new listing service for all parents out there!
