Stomp, Clap & Sing with Bilingual Birdies at the New Utrecht Brooklyn Public Library
Monday February 12th 11-1145a. Free. The Bilingual Birdies celebrates language and culture in 45 minutes of fun-filled live music and dance! Learn new words in Mandarin while you sing along to original hip tunes and your favorite traditional folk songs. The program is in Mandarin.
Music with Patrick’s Nursery Rhyme Time at Mulberry Street NY Public Library (NoLita)
Monday February 12th 4-5p. Free. For 0-7 year olds and their caregivers. Join Patrick, his guitar, and his silly puppet friends for a musical celebration of some old nursery rhyme favorites. Tuesday February 13th 11a-12n. Free. Feeling the beat! Enjoy the power and pleasure of Jazz, Calypso and Reggae through singing and dancing in this interactive performance with versatile entertainer Conroy Warren. It’s fun! It’s exciting! Families will be given seating priority. Seating is limited. First come, first served.
French for Little Ones at Busy Bodies (Clinton Hill)
Tuesdays 330-415p. $20/child. French for Little Ones is a fun and exciting 45 minutes French discovery class for babies and toddlers for ages 6 months and up. Through playful and stimulating songs and movements, incorporating puppets, shakers, pictures and more, children become familiar with vocabulary (greetings, colors, numbers, parts of the body etc.) and pronunciation. This is a lively, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable class for the child and parent or caregiver.
George Washington Returns at New Utrecht Church Parish House
Tuesday February 13th 730p. Free. We invite you to spend an evening with George Washington (portrayed by Michael Grillo) as he discusses his experiences in the Battle of Brooklyn during the Revolutionary War, his time as President and more.

Space Oddities presented by CMOM at Epiphany New York Public Library (Kips Bay)
Wednesdays at 315p in February. Free. Best for ages 6 and older. limited to 30 participants only. Students enrolled in Space Oddities have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of the Earth, sun and the surrounding planets. Through inquiry and experiments, students learn about what life may be like on other planets, what stars are made of, and how astronauts travel all the way to the moon. Through a variety of interactive and science-based lessons, students discover and learn basic concepts of physics, geography, astronomy, and geology. This program is designed to meet performance standards for Earth sciences, scientific thinking, communication tools, and investigation. Presented by Children’s Museum of Manhattan.
Edible Adventures with Chef Aliya LeeKong at the Clinton Hill Brooklyn Public Library
Wednesday February 14th 4-5p. Free. For kids ages 5- 12 years and their caregivers. Come join Chef, Cookbook Author and Television Personality Aliya LeeKong for an afternoon of culinary adventure and exploration! We will be touching, smelling, and tasting different cooking ingredients while learning about how they are used to make delicious dishes around the world. Participants will also have the chance to play with Aliya’s new app, Issa’s Edible Adventures™. The app takes players on a global journey to teach them about different cultures and their food, how a restaurant kitchen works, and gives them the chance to cook dishes using step by step recipes.

The DAD BEATS at LARK (Flatbush/Prospect Park South)
Thursdays 11a. $5 suggested donation. The Dad Beats are a power quartet wrapped in a playdate with a hootenany garnish! Made up of three real live Brooklyn dads, the Dad Beats traverse surf, rock and country grooves to deliver playful reimaginings of your childhood favorites. Bring your baby/toddler/kid and dance along with the Beats!
Stories Songs from the African Diaspora at Cortelyou Brooklyn Public Library
Thursday February 15th 330-430p. Free. What stories do we learn from music? French-Haitian musician Anais Maviel explores this question as she performs traditional songs from the African Diaspora with voice, drums, and n’goni, a West African string instrument. Then she leads a Circle Singing workshop where audience members are invited to share in improvisatory, call-and-response style singing. Blending all voices has been a privileged way to gather and share stories in many traditional societies; now you can bring your own stories to the table and engage in collective harmony.
Neverland: Peter Returns at Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre (Central Park)
Tuesdays-Fridays 1030a & 1130a, Saturdays & Sundays 1p and special schedules during Mid-Winter & Spring Breaks. See website for schedule. Tickets are required for all performances and are $8 for children and $12 for adults. Based on J.M. Barrie’s iconic Peter Pan tales, Neverland: Peter Returns is the Swedish Cottage’s spin on the beloved children’s classic. Leaving their parents behind, the Darling children follow Peter Pan back home to Neverland for the adventure of a lifetime. When the cunning Captain Hook turns Peter’s pals Tiger Lily and Tinker Bell against him, the children team up with the Never Boys to save the day, learning the value of forgiveness and friendship.
Toddler Open Play at Prospect Gymnastics (Flatbush/Ditmas Park)
Mondays & Wednesdays 930a-12n, Tuesday 1-3p, Thursdays 10a-12n & Sundays 3-5p until June 15th. Note: open plays is suspended duiring Winter break (2/19-2/23) & Spring Break (4/2-4/6). $15/single drop in, $100 10 class pass. Open playtime is for toddlers 4 and under. Open Play is drop in. Game of Jewish Life at the Jewish Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Mondays-Thursdays 1-4p & Sundays 12n-4p until February 22nd. $13/person includes Museum admission. In an adventure filled, life size Game of Jewish Life, you’ll find out how many steps to take using a giant spinner! Then, you’ll get a chance to celebrate your birthday with a mystery present box and a giant birthday cake! Start the school year with our magnetic classroom scene and add your good dead to the wall of Mitzvos! And for all those here for serious business, there’s a puppet theater to experiment with your favorite career!
Block Party at Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Ongoing until June 10th Tuesday-Sunday 10a-5p (open until 6p on Thursdays). Free with Museum admission. BLOCK PARTY brings together the elements of the iconic Brooklyn block party all under one roof, including a series of dimensional stoops set against a backdrop of artistic facades of residential buildings, and different ”street” and green spaces to play games, meet friends, relax, and have fun. Large-scale photographs by Brooklyn-based artist Anderson Zaca, who has long documented block parties in Brooklyn, will be featured and invoke the joy, action, and diversity of block parties celebrated annually across neighborhoods in New York City. Families will be invited to add to the photographs, and record their own images and experiences in the city among those of their neighbors.
Winter Weekdays: Free! at Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Tuesdays-Fridays 10a-430p until February 28th. Free! Admission charged all day Saturday & Sunday. Last admission into the Garden is 30 minutes before closing time.
Drop-In Sessions at Children’s Museum of the Arts (SoHo)
Monday-Friday 1045a-12n. $25/family. Savings for CMA Members: $10 off ($15 per family). No advance sign up required. Music time! Story time! Art time! Join CMA’s WEE teaching artists for an art-filled drop-in session when the museum is closed for general hours. Parent and/or caregivers are required to join and we encourage family collaboration throughout the class.
Tots Drop in Center at Congregation Beth Elohim (Park Slope)
Tuesdays-Fridays 915a-12p until April 15th 2018. Fees: Temple Member $10/child, $15 with additional sibling. Non-member $12/child, $18 with additional sibling. Visit Passes available for purchase. See website for more information. The tots drop-in center is place for children ages 0-24 months and their parents/caregivers to explore, learn, and have fun! Monday-Friday 1-330p. $10/day. After a nap and lunch, but before bath and dinner, come to hang out and play with other 0-3 year olds at Edamama. Wednesdays 1-5p, Thursday 1-6p (admission is free Thursdays) and Fridays-Sunday 1-5p. $15/child. (BCM Passport Members enjoy free admission). Each day at SPARK, kids can: BUILD IT! Design your own structures in our popular exhibit Brooklyn Block Lab. MAKE IT! Creativity abounds in our art activities that change each week. TOUCH IT! Get cozy in our Discovery Den featuring soft play and reading space, and a series of discovery drawers that hold treasures from our collection as well as tactile materials for little hands to explore.
Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p (except 11/23, 11/25 & 11/26). Free. The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!
Free Skating at The Rink at Bryant Park (Midtown West)
Daily 8a-10p until March 4th. Admission free! Skate rental: $20. Rink hours are weather permitting. See the website for all the bag check information. The centerpiece of Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, this 17,000 square foot rink features free admission ice skating, high quality rental skates, and free skating shows, special events, and activities. Many Holiday Shops are open on major holidays so start your shopping early!
