Hi everyone! Another weekend has flown by and hope you are ready for another fun week with the kids.

Monday January 22nd

¡Bienvenidos! Spanish Sing-Along with Lucy Kalantari! at Lark (Flatbush/Prospect Park South)
Mondays 11-1145a.  $10/family.  Learn Spanish in song with your child every Monday at Lark Cafe with Lucy Kalantari. Lucy will guide you through songs both new and familiar while exploring colors, numbers and animals. You’ll go on a mini-adventure during story time with delightful, illustrated books in Spanish. Finish off with a jam session and dive into rhythmic fun!

Stomp, Clap & Sing with Bilingual Birdies at the Midwood Brooklyn Public Library
Monday January 22nd 1115a-12n. Free. The Bilingual Birdies celebrates language and culture in 45 minutes of fun-filled live music and dance! Learn new words while you sing along to original hip tunes and your favorite traditional folk songs.

Open Play at Monkey Do! Yoga (Gowanus)
Mondays 1-6p. Drop in $10 Additional Sibling $6.  Class packs available also. NEW: Unlimited Individual Open Play Monthly $150/month (per person).  For ages 0-4y.  Move and play!  Make friends in space that’s perfect for little ones and toddlers to explore and climb.  This free play time is designed to get parents, caregivers and the kids out of the house, connecting with each other and having fun!  They can enjoy moving around in our kid-friendly environment, and weather permitting, the backyard too. Come and go any time during the day. This play time is designed to get parents, caregivers and the kids out of the house, connecting with each other and having fun! Tuesday January 23rd

Music Singalongs at First Unitarian Congregational Society (Brooklyn Heights)
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays 11a-1145a.  $10 per child ($15 for pairs of siblings).  The Constellation School of Music singalong! Combining traditional kids songs and modern classics as well as a few songs the adults can sing along to, our performers provide a fun, energetic atmosphere that can be alternately relaxing and exciting.

Toddler Yoga at the Bedford Brooklyn Public Library
Tuesdays 3-345p until March 13th. Free. Join Kelly Brennan for some fun on the yoga mat! Toddlers will explore yoga poses and breathing in a playful way through adventures, stories, games, and songs. This class is designed for any toddler who is a strong walker. We kindly ask that caregivers are attentive and quiet during the class. Caregivers are invited to participate as well! Class size will be limited to 25 participants.

Hawks with Babies at Nitehawk Cinema (Williamsburg)
Tuesday January 23rd 430p. Tickets: General admission: $12. Babies welcome! Being a new parent shouldn’t curtail cinema-going which is why Nitehawk happily provides our ongoing Hawks with Babies series. Offering first-run features EVERY TUESDAY AFTERNOON with full food and beverage service, our Hawks with Babies screenings are a great opportunity for new parents to be able to get out of the house and into an afternoon movie with their babies. This series is catered to parents with babies 1-year or younger. Parents with older children (6 and up) are welcome to join us for our Lil’ Hawk Friendly series. January 23rd: I, Tonya: A darkly comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding. Rated R. Run time: 121

Wednesday January 24th

Lavender Blues at Dimensions on Stage (Bay Ridge)
Wednesdays 10a.  $20/drop in.  Lavender Blues is an intimate music & movement session for babies and toddlers. During our 40 minute classes kids develop an understanding of rhythm and music, build awareness and control of their body as well as develop social and coordination skills—all while singing, dancing and having fun!  We sit in a circle, sing songs, play instruments, have movement with our fingers, arms and feet, as well as march, dance, and play with a ginormous parachute!!

CantaEspañol at Gumbo (Boerum Hill)
Wednesdays at 11-1145a until March 28th.  Drop-ins $25. Pro-rated late registration also available. Call Gumbo to register, 718-855-7808. CantaEspañol is a program designed for children from 6 months to 4 years old. Through songs, musical games, and movement, your child will be totally engaged in the Spanish language. In addition, these interactive activities will serve to develop self expression and social skills.  Conducted completely in Spanish, the CantaEspañol class will introduce Spanish into your child’s life in a lively and super fun way!

The Mystery of Twelve Curious Cousins Play at East Flatbush Brooklyn Public Library
Wednesday January 24th 330-5p. Free. For ages 4-12y. This play is an interactive inspired by The Twelve Dancing Princesses by the Brother Grimm, complete with silly puppets, memorable characters, and rhythms you won’t be able to get out of your head!

Thursday January 25th

The Buttons Afternoon Sing-Along at Edamama Cute Cuts & More (Williamsburg)
Thursdays 345-430p. Drop in Fee: $15/session, $5 per additional child (cash only). For 0-5y (and their grown-ups). Please join The Buttons (Caitlin Mahoney and Hannah Winkler) for a grooving afternoon sing-along every Thursday at Edamama! We put together an energetic 45-minute set of our original tunes, classic children’s songs, and oldies rock n’ roll that is sure to get both kids and grown-ups singing and dancing! We hand out shakers, teach some moves, and encourage everyone to get their bodies grooving to the music. The Buttons’ sing-along is a wonderful opportunity to bond with your child and your community through the love of music and the joy it brings.

Kids Explore: Jeopardy at Brooklyn Heights Public Library
Thursday January 25th 4-5p. Free. Ages 7+. Modeled after the original television show, join us as we do our own version of the show. Questions range in level of difficulty, and are designed to be approachable for all participants. Be prepared to answer in the form of a question!

Drama Workshop at the Battery Park City NY Public Library
Thursday January 25th 4p. Free. Location: Community Room. This program is for school-age children. Sorry, no toddlers. Limited to the first 25 children and their caregivers. Join the story with props and costumes! Play games that teach you how to act by thinking on your feet! No acting experience necessary.

Toddler Open Play at Prospect Gymnastics (Flatbush/Ditmas Park)
Mondays & Wednesdays 930a-12n, Tuesday 1-3p, Thursdays 10a-12n & Sundays 3-5p until June 15th.  Note: open plays is suspended duiring Winter break (2/19-2/23) & Spring Break (4/2-4/6).  $15/single drop in, $100 10 class pass.  Open playtime is for toddlers 4 and under. Open Play is drop in. Parental supervision required. We reserve the right to ask a parent or nanny to leave if we feel a child is being unsafe or unsupervised. Game of Jewish Life at the Jewish Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Mondays-Thursdays 1-4p & Sundays 12n-4p until February 22nd. $13/person includes Museum admission. In an adventure filled, life size Game of Jewish Life, you’ll find out how many steps to take using a giant spinner! Then, you’ll get a chance to celebrate your birthday with a mystery present box and a giant birthday cake! Start the school year with our magnetic classroom scene and add your good dead to the wall of Mitzvos! And for all those here for serious business, there’s a puppet theater to experiment with your favorite career!

Block Party at Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Ongoing until June 10th Tuesday-Sunday 10a-5p (open until 6p on Thursdays). Free with Museum admission. BLOCK PARTY brings together the elements of the iconic Brooklyn block party all under one roof, including a series of dimensional stoops set against a backdrop of artistic facades of residential buildings, and different ”street” and green spaces to play games, meet friends, relax, and have fun. Large-scale photographs by Brooklyn-based artist Anderson Zaca, who has long documented block parties in Brooklyn, will be featured and invoke the joy, action, and diversity of block parties celebrated annually across neighborhoods in New York City. Families will be invited to add to the photographs, and record their own images and experiences in the city among those of their neighbors.

Winter Weekdays: Free! at Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Tuesdays-Fridays 10a-430p until February 28th & Monday February 19th 10a-430p and . Free! Admission charged all day Saturday & Sunday. Last admission into the Garden is 30 minutes before closing time.

Drop-In Sessions at Children’s Museum of the Arts (SoHo)
Monday-Friday 1045a-12n. $25/family. Savings for CMA Members: $10 off ($15 per family). No advance sign up required. Music time! Story time! Art time! Join CMA’s WEE teaching artists for an art-filled drop-in session when the museum is closed for general hours. Parent and/or caregivers are required to join and we encourage family collaboration throughout the class.

Tots Drop in Center at Congregation Beth Elohim (Park Slope)
Tuesdays-Fridays 915a-12p until April 15th 2018. Fees: Temple Member $10/child, $15 with additional sibling. Non-member $12/child, $18 with additional sibling. Visit Passes available for purchase. See website for more information. The tots drop-in center is place for children ages 0-24 months and their parents/caregivers to explore, learn, and have fun! Drop in for play with age-appropriate toys and activities in our social hall (large indoor space). No advanced registration required – please do drop in!

Open Play at at Edamama Cute Cuts & More (Williamsburg)
Monday-Friday 1-330p. $10/day. After a nap and lunch, but before bath and dinner, come to hang out and play with other 0-3 year olds at Edamama. Explore various award winning books or bring your own toy and play in a warm, safe, and enriching environment. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Adult participation.

Drop-in Playspace at Recess (DUMBO)
Monday-Friday 9a-5p & Saturday-Sundays 9-1130a. Drop in $30 first child, $20 per additional child. Memberships also available for purchase. See website for details. Hello! Welcome to Recess, where playtime is easy with our flexible drop-in model. Our custom-made play structures are designed for curious minds and busy bodies to explore. Learning is fun at Recess too. Our talented staff and variety of programming will help your children learn what they like and have a great time doing it.

Playtime at Fairytale Island (Bay Ridge)
Monday-Sunday 10a-8p. $18/child. Group discount (3 or more kids): $15. Come away with your children for a moment in a place where memories are made and time stand still!

The Little People Party at The Backyard (Williamsburg)

Drop in Play at SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum (DUMBO)
Wednesdays 1-5p, Thursday 1-6p (admission is free Thursdays) and Fridays-Sunday 1-5p. $15/child. (BCM Passport Members enjoy free admission). Each day at SPARK, kids can: BUILD IT! Design your own structures in our popular exhibit Brooklyn Block Lab. MAKE IT! Creativity abounds in our art activities that change each week. TOUCH IT! Get cozy in our Discovery Den featuring soft play and reading space, and a series of discovery drawers that hold treasures from our collection as well as tactile materials for little hands to explore.

Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p (except 11/23, 11/25 & 11/26). Free. The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!

16th Annual Holiday Train Show in Grand Central (Midtown)
Daily 6a-8p until Sunday February 2nd. Free. The holiday season is a time of joy for kids of all ages and nothing says holiday enchantment quite like dazzled little faces watching in wonderment as model trains zip through tunnels, by subway stops, around familiar skyscrapers and through iconic cityscapes. To the delight of kids and railroad enthusiasts alike, the New York Transit Museum will continue its tradition of capturing hearts and imaginations at the 16th Annual Holiday Train Show at Grand Central Terminal starting in November and running through the New Year. The theme of the holiday train show changes every year and the event is free and open to the public.

Free Skating at The Rink at Bryant Park (Midtown West)
Daily 8a-10p until March 4th. Admission free! Skate rental: $20. Rink hours are weather permitting. See the website for all the bag check information. The centerpiece of Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, this 17,000 square foot rink features free admission ice skating, high quality rental skates, and free skating shows, special events, and activities. Many Holiday Shops are open on major holidays so start your shopping early!
