Spring Break: Camp Out at Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Monday April 10th-Tuesday April 18th 10a-5p. Free with Museum admission. School’s out but the Museum’s open during spring break! Visit each day for activities focused on the environment, life sciences, and art. Check out the Museum’s new exhibit WILDERNESS CAMP, an immersive indoor camping experience. Play in Neighborhood Nature, including our community garden made out of cork, a real greenhouse, and an indoor “beach”. See the website for the schedule of the day.
Powers in Motion: Action-packed Break Week at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (UWS)
Monday April 10th-Tuesday April 18th various times. Free with Museum admission. The Children’s’ Museum invites you to an action-packed spring break. All week long explore different forms of power like super powers, energy, creativity and strength. Train to be a superhero, help us construct an imaginary machine, create new playground games and design tap shoes that really stomp. Enjoy powerful performances by the New York Chinese Cultural Center and their lion dance, explore quantum physics with SYREN Modern Dance, and fuse martial arts and music when you learn capoeira from Silva Dance Company. School Vacation Week at Dimenna Children’s History Museum (UWS)
Monday April 10th-Tuesday April 18th 10a-5p. Free with Museum admission. For all ages. April School Vacation Week this year is all about celebrating our latest special exhibition, Thomas Jefferson: The Private Man, from the Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society! Kids’ Discovery Stations at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Tuesdays-Fridays until June 2nd 1015a-1215p. Free with Garden admission. This is a drop-in program for schools and families with children of all ages. Get your hands dirty at kids’ discovery stations throughout the Garden. Investigate and classify plants, touch a carnivorous plant and learn how it eats, or go on a monarch and milkweed exploration in the meadow! All programs are outdoors and canceled in inclement weather.

Tuesday April 11th 11a-12n. Free. Come on down to the Funkytown Playground! We will jump and jam with shakers and tambourines, dance with bubbles and fall from the stars with our colorful parachute.
Spring Break Activities for Kids at the Queens Botanical Garden
Tuesday-Friday April 11th-14th 1-4p. Free with Garden admission. While school’s out, roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty! Children can sift and search through the Queens Botanical Garden’s Exploration Station. Pick up a self-guided spring scavenger hunt and learn about our upcoming gardening programs for kids. Activities are drop-in, while supplies last.

Kids Week Brooklyn: Wilderness Survival in Marine Park
Wednesday April 12th 1-230p. Free. Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Our Urban Park Rangers are skilled in the techniques of wilderness survival and emergency preparedness. On this fun, family-friendly program (recommended ages 8 and up) you will learn tips and tricks that will enhance your knowledge of the natural world, and might just save your life. This program features hands-on activities in an outdoor setting. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Sensory-Friendly Music, Bubble and Comedy Show at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library (Chelsea)
Wednesday April 12th 330p. Free. Best for ages 2 and older. The sensory-friendly Music, Bubble, and Comedy Show is a “turtle-riffic” musical experience that is designed to educate and entertain children through songs, comedy, movement, stories, and interactive music technology. The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the autism spectrum, and a great time for parents and caregiver. Each song in the 60-minute show is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time. Kids will pay instruments, try out interactive music technology and dance along through the whole show! Presented by Turtle Dance Music.

Animal Character Puppets at The Jewish Museum (UES)
Thursday-Friday April 13th-14th & Sunday April 16th 1-4p. Ages 3 and up. Free with Museum admission. Passover Week Art Workshop! Create a fantastical animal or character from the Passover story inspired by the quirky world of artist Charlemagne Palestine and his sculptures of stuffed animals and found objects.
ARTech: Adventures In Art + Techchnology (Meatpacking District)
Wednesdays-Thursdays 3-7p and Saturdays-Sundays 10a-5p until April 29th. Free and open to the public. RSVP is required for a timed entry slot. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. The Meatpacking Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to invite you to experience ARTech: Adventures in Art + Technology! ARTech is a two-month long pop-up activity center comprised of STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) experiential workshops, installations, and interactive moments for school age children + their accompanying adults. Note: Each attendee is allowed 1 hour within the space to engage with the various stations. A 15 minute warning announcement will be announced before leaving the space. The Princess, The Emperor and the Duck at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre (Central Park)
Tuesday-Fridays 1030a & 12n and Saturdays & Sundays 1p until September 17th. Tickets are $8/children and $12/adults. A modern retelling of three classic Han Christian Andersen tales. Set in Africa, China and our own Central Park, The Princess, The Emperor, and The Duck retells storyteller Hans Christian Andersen’s world-famous fairy tales — The Princess and the Pea, The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Ugly Duckling — bringing the Theatre to life with new marionettes and hand painted scenery. Guided by a narrating Owl, audience members fly into each story with the original tales that teach important life lessons still relevant to children today.
Drop in Play at SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum (DUMBO)
Wednesdays 1-5p, Thursday 1-6p (admission is free Thursdays) and Fridays-Sunday 1-5p. $15/child. (BCM Passport Members enjoy free admission). Each day at SPARK, kids can: BUILD IT! Design your own structures in our popular exhibit Brooklyn Block Lab. MAKE IT! Creativity abounds in our art activities that change each week. TOUCH IT! Twinkle Playspace (Williamsburg)
Monday-Friday 10a–6p and Saturday-Sunday 8a-1130a. First Time Pass – $25 (only for the first time). $35 for additional visits. Memberships also available. Located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Twinkle’s 4500 square foot play space has innovative custom-made exhibits to cater to any child’s wildest imagination. These special exhibits, designed for the under 6 crowd, are a harmonious blend of urban life and nature that encourages the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of a child in an accessible, high-quality learning environment. Twinkle hosts open play 7 days a week and children can also have an unforgettable birthday with exclusive use of our playspace! So drift away and enjoy the ride with your child in this magical journey to a world of infinite discoveries and treasured moments. Twinkle is a socks-only environment so please keep this in mind for children and adults entering the playspace. Parental supervision is required at all times, no drop-offs allowed. Open Play at Curiosity on Court (Cobble Hill)
Monday-Friday 10a-6p & Saturday-Sunday 9a-6p. Open Play drop-in: $25 per child, $45 for 2 siblings, $6- for 3 siblings. Weekday monthly passes and pass packages also available. Welcome to Curiosity on Court, a world of energy busting excitement! Our custom designed play structures and exhibits were created to raise the curiosity and fuel the imagination of kids 1–10 yrs old. Whether they’re conquering our climbing wall, taking a ride on the subway, making connections on the magnetic wall or finding their route through our multi-level play structure, there’s hours of fun for everyone. Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p. Free. The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!
