Monday March 13th

Open Play at Monkey Do! Yoga (Gowanus)
Mondays 930a-5p. Drop in $10 (per caregiver/child pair) additional Sibling $6 and class packs also available.  Recommended for ages 0-6 years.  Move and play!  Make friends in space that’s perfect for little ones and toddlers to explore and climb.  This free play time is designed to get parents, caregivers and the kids out of the house, connecting with each other and having fun!  They can enjoy moving around in our kid-friendly environment, and weather permitting, the backyard too.

Monday March 13th 1115a-12n.  Free.  Emmy Award-winning children’s entertainer Alex Mitnick guides us on a journey that leads to all the treasures of the world. Songs unfold like storybooks, captivating young minds, drawing them into adventures, stirring their imagination!

The Wearing of the Green at the Mulberry New York Public Library
Monday March 13th 4p.  Free.  An Irish Sing-Along to celebrate St. Patrick Day with Mr. Patrick, his guitar and his silly puppet friends as we stomp and clap to some of the world’s most joyful Irish music.  Best for ages 7  and older. Presented by Music with Patrick.

Tuesday March 14th

Bilingual Birdies: Spanish at the Grand Central New York Public Library
Tuesdays 1030a in March.  Free.  Location: Community Room.  Ages newborn to 6 years old.   Hola! Bonjour! Ni Hao! Families will enjoy 45 fun-filled minutes this Winter as they learn Spanish, French, or Mandarin all through live music. Teachers play guitar and sing with the children as they learn new vocabulary through music, movement, and puppetry! Bilingual Birdies will be exploring themes including Farm Animals, Jungle Animals, Colors, and Transportation this winter. They provide instruments and props for the children to use as well as a free CD download of their original music for all parents and librarians to keep the learning going throughout the week.

Tuesday March 14th 11a-12n.  Free.  Location: Dweck Center.  Multi-award winning children’s artist, Lucy Kalantari, brings delightful jazz age inspired music everyone can enjoy! Kids and families will love the interactive jazz-scat-along play, while singing about the simple joys and delights of life.

Rocking Chair Music Sing-Along at Wild Was Mama (Greenpoint)
Tuesdays 1130a.  One-month blocks at $10 per class or $15 drop-in.  Come join us as Greg Stare, with the help of his guitar and harmonica, leads a community sing-along including a variety of all-time favorites, forgotten classics, and unexpected kid-friendly numbers.

Wednesday March 15th 1030-1130a.  Free.  Rolie Polie Guacamole has developed a smart, parent-friendly musical style that dresses up original tunes and classic covers in their latest album Chips and Salsa.

Free Yoga Storytime at Karma Kids Yoga (Chelsea)
Wednesdays 1130a-12n.  Free.  Storytime comes alive with puppets, songs and yoga poses. Carefully selected stories that naturally lend themselves to yoga! As we read we’ll come across animals and elements of nature that we know from yoga…we’ll stop the story, do the yoga pose, then continue with our story.

Creative Cats After-School Workshop at Barking Cat Studio (Windsor Terrace)
Wednesdays 4-5p until March 29th.  For ages 3.5y-5y.  Drop-Ins are always welcome provided there is space available. Call ahead for availability (718-686-1132).  Drop-In Class $35, Trial Class: $25 ($10 off for giving us a try!), New Family: Add $30 one-time Registration Fee. Class cards also available.  This workshop introduces a variety of media to young artists. We’ll explore different uses of materials – mosaics, clay, sculpture, printmaking, batik and more. Drop off available for children comfortable working independently.

Thursday March 16th 1030a-12n.  Free.  For babies and toddlers birth to 3 years and their parents and caregivers.  Stop by the Cortelyou Playdate to enjoy fun games and activities that delight young children and encourage early literacy. Come to play and leave ready to turn ordinary objects in your home into your child’s favorite toys.

Tummy Time (non-crawling infants) at the NYP Muhlenberg Library (Chelsea)
Thursdays in March 1030a.  Free.  Location:  Community Room.  For young infants (pre-walkers); limited to 30 caregivers with child.  Infants and their caregivers will get down on their tummies and do simple finger plays, and songs.  There will be time to interact with other infants, read together, and learn an easy to remember developmental tip.  Please, only pre-walkers and their caregivers and families! Different story times are available for older, more active children.

Free Drop in Play at SPARK (DUMBO)
Thursday 1-6p.  Free. Each day at SPARK, kids can: BUILD IT! Design your own structures in our popular exhibit Brooklyn Block Lab.  MAKE IT! Creativity abounds in our art activities that change each week.  TOUCH IT! Get cozy in our Discovery Den featuring soft play and reading space, and a series of discovery drawers that hold treasures from our collection as well as tactile materials for little hands to explore.  SPARK is also open Wednesdays & Fridays-Sundays 1-5p and amdmission is $15/child.

ARTech: Adventures In Art + Techchnology (Meatpacking District)
Wednesdays-Thursdays 3-7pand Saturdays-Sundays 10a-5p until April 29th.  Free and open to the public.  RSVP is required for a timed entry slot. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.  The Meatpacking Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to invite you to experience ARTech: Adventures in Art + Technology!  ARTech is a two-month long pop-up activity center comprised of STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) experiential workshops, installations, and interactive moments for school age children + their accompanying adults.   Note: Each attendee is allowed 1 hour within the space to engage with the various stations. A 15 minute warning announcement will be announced before leaving the space.   See the website for all the details of the activities.

The Princess, The Emperor and the Duck at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre (Central Park)
Tuesday-Fridays 1030a & 12n and Saturdays & Sundays 1p until September 17th.  Tickets are $8/children and $12/adults.  A modern retelling of three classic Han Christian Andersen tales.  Set in Africa, China and our own Central Park, The Princess, The Emperor, and The Duck retells storyteller Hans Christian Andersen’s world-famous fairy tales — The Princess and the Pea, The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Ugly Duckling — bringing the Theatre to life with new marionettes and hand painted scenery. Guided by a narrating Owl, audience members fly into each story with the original tales that teach important life lessons still relevant to children today.

Drop in Play at SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum (DUMBO)
Wednesdays 1-5p, Thursday 1-6p (admission is free Thursdays) and Fridays-Sunday 1-5p.  $15/child. (BCM Passport Members enjoy free admission).  Each day at SPARK, kids can: BUILD IT! Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 930-1130a & Tuesdays & Thursdays 4-530p.  $10/drop in.  Class packs also available.  Unstructured indoor open play and socializing for babies & toddlers in a bright and cozy space that has all the comforts of home.  We offer several play areas for children as well as a cozy space for you to relax and have a cup of tea or coffee while your child explores and socializes.  Child-led play, parent/caregiver supervised.

Play Space Winter Schedule at Juguemos a Cantar (South Slope)
M-F 9a-12n and 330-530p until March 30th.  $12 per visit / Sibling $3 per visit.  There is no registration required for Drop-In Sessions. You can enjoy our playspace as a DROP IN (pay as you come), with our PLAY PASSES (pre-pay visits), or have a MEMBERSHIP (unlimited visits for 1 month).  Juguemos a Cantar Drop-In Play Space offers a social learning environment that includes exploration and interaction for kids 0 to 4y. A large, clean, well-equipped, airy indoor play area full of fun, music, a play kitchen, blocks, trains, doll houses, working bench, tools, puppets, soft play area, ball pit, books, craft table, & more.  Monday: Singalong with Damian & his drums (Spanish & English) 1015a, Tuesday: Singalong with Ivan & his drums 1015a, Wednesday: Singalong with Ale (Spanish/English) 1015a, Thursday: Singalong with Turcker 1015a and Friday: Storytime (Spanish/English) 1030a.

Tots Drop in Center at Congregation Beth Elohim (Park Slope)
Tuesdays-Fridays 915a-12p until April 7th, 2017.  Please note: the drop in center will be closed on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.  Fees: Temple Member $10/child, $15 with additional sibling.  Non-member $12/child, $18 with additional sibling.  Visit Passes also available for purchase.  See website for more information.  For ages birth through 24 months.  All children are accompanied by their adult.  Parents, caregivers, and children come together to discover, learn and have fun!  The Drop-In Center is held in our Social Hall, which becomes a large indoor play space with age-appropriate toys and activities.  The program is coordinated by an early childhood facilitator.

Open Play & Activities at Recess (DUMBO)
Monday-Thursday 9a-530p, Friday 9a-5p and Saturday-Sundays 9a–1130a*.  Drop in $30 first child, $20 per additional child.  Memberships/play packs also available for purchase.  (Please also bring socks for kids and adults).  At Recess, we understand the value of flexibility and convenience. Your kids may come in and play anytime during our scheduled play hours. We’re ready when you are!  Recess offers free weekly classes for members and drop-ins!  Recess Story Time (0 – 3 yrs), Monday at 11a & Tuesday at 3p. Recess Craft (6 mos – 3 yrs),Thursdays at 230p.   *Weekend afternoons are reserved for birthday parties.

Twinkle Playspace (Williamsburg)
Monday-Friday 10a–6p and Saturday-Sunday 8a-1130a.  First Time Pass – $25 (only for the first time).  $35 for additional visits.  Memberships also available.  Located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Twinkle’s 4500 square foot play space has innovative custom-made exhibits to cater to any child’s wildest imagination. These special exhibits, designed for the under 6 crowd, are a harmonious blend of urban life and nature that encourages the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of a child in an accessible, high-quality learning environment. Twinkle hosts open play 7 days a week and children can also have an unforgettable birthday with exclusive use of our playspace! So drift away and enjoy the ride with your child in this magical journey to a world of infinite discoveries and treasured moments.  Twinkle is a socks-only environment so please keep this in mind for children and adults entering the playspace. Parental supervision is required at all times, no drop-offs allowed. Parking is available under the BQE (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway) which is only a block away from us as well as street parking.

Toddler Open Play at Prospect Gymnastics (Flatbush/Ditmas Park)
Mondays & Wednesdays 10a-12n, Tuesdays 1-3p, Thursdays 10a-12n & Sundays 3-5p.  Note: week of 2/20-2/26 there is only Open Play on Sunday the 26th.  $15/single drop in, $100 10 class pass.  Open playtime for toddlers 4 and under. Parental supervision required.

Open Play at Curiosity on Court (Cobble Hill)
Monday-Friday 10a-6p & Saturday-Sunday 9a-6p.  Open Play drop-in: $25 per child, $45 for 2 siblings, $6- for 3 siblings.  Weekday monthly passes and pass packages also available.  Welcome to Curiosity on Court, a world of energy busting excitement! Our custom designed play structures and exhibits were created to raise the curiosity and fuel the imagination of kids 1–10 yrs old. Whether they’re conquering our climbing wall, taking a ride on the subway, making connections on the magnetic wall or finding their route through our multi-level play structure, there’s hours of fun for everyone.  Weekend Open Play hours are extended if we don’t have birthday party/event. Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p.  Free.  The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!
