Tomorrow take the kids and enjoy Halloween Playspace @ BAXBrooklyn Arts Exchange, BAMboo!, Halloween 313: AbraCadaver!, Park Slope Civic Council Halloween Parade, Children’s Halloween Parade in Washington Square Park and Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween Adventure at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre.  Also going on this week is  Stomp, Clap & Sing with Yosi & Eugene at the Central Brooklyn Public Library, Soccer Shots Free Public Demo Sessions at WEWORK Brooklyn Heights, Yellow Sneaker Puppet Sing-Along at Sir D’s Lounge, Romp & Relax at Tot Town, La Hora Mágica de los Pequeños at the Sunset Park Brooklyn Public Library, Tots Yoga at Bend & Bloom Yoga, Toddler Open Play at Prospect Gymnastics and Stomp, Clap & Sing with Camille Harris at the New Utrecht Brooklyn Public Library.

This week is the last week for the Kids’ Discovery Stations at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the start of Canstruction at Brookfield Place so make sure to check them out.  There are more Halloween events on the calendar so take a look at it.  Also check our Facebook page for last minute news and event reminders.

Halloween Playspace @ BAXBrooklyn Arts Exchange (Park Slope)
Monday October 31st  930a-1130a.   Ages 1 to 4y, with a caregiver.  Admission: $10 per family.  Calling all monsters, ghosts and goblins! Join us as we celebrate a spooky start to the Playspace season!  We’re kicking off the 2016-2017 Playspace season with all of the usual Playspace fun – from wiggly tunnels to colorful blocks – plus singing, dancing, and a special treat (but no tricks – we promise). All with a little Halloween twist!  Kids (and adults!) are encouraged to come in costume.  Registration is strongly encouraged. Call 718-832-0018 or to register.

Hansel & Gretel’s Halloween Adventure at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre
Monday October 31st 11a & 1p. Tickets: $7/child $10/adult.  Hansel and Gretel’s Halloween Adventure picks up where the original Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre production leaves off; with the siblings’ pet swan Samantha flying the children back to their humble home after their wild escapade in the forest.  Safely back at home during the Halloween season, Hansel and Gretel experience the most vivid dreams where Central Park and the Belvedere Castle serve as the backdrop for a magical explosion of music, dance and exciting encounters with a host of lovable characters. The brother and sister team once again embark on an adventure where beautiful mermaids, adorable monsters, swashbuckling pirates, charming vampires and a fabulous witch all intertwine for one unforgettable Halloween night in New York City.  Purchase tickets here.

2016 Children’s Halloween Parade in Washington Square Park (Greenwich Village)
Monday October 31st 3-6p.  Free.  Location:  gather at the fountain in Washington Square Park.  Parents and children will gather at 3:00 pm at the fountain in Washington Square Park. Free trick-or-treat bags, performances, games, and rides, will await the children after the parade on West 3rd Street between LaGuardia Place and Mercer Street

BAMboo! (Fort Greene)
Monday October 31st 4-7p.  Free.  Start your night of trick-or-treating at BAM’s free outdoor Halloween block party. Come celebrate our spirited tradition with family-friendly music and mischief.  Featuring: Candy giveaways, Bounce house, Carnival games, Costume contest, Arts & crafts and more.  Happy Halloween!

Halloween 313: AbraCadaver! (Clinton Hill)
Monday October 31st all-age live performances begin about every 30 minutes from about 530p to 9p in front of 313 Clinton Avenue.  Everyone loves magic. Card up the sleeve. Coin behind the ear. Rabbit out of a hat. But sometimes magic can turn deadly, and woe to the unwary! Join us this Halloween as we take an old-fashioned stroll down the Coney Island Boardwalk and explore the DARK side of magic—that place where the forces of GOOD and EVIL fight for your soul…but only one will win!  The block will be closed from traffic, but arrive early for a good spot!

Park Slope Civic Council Halloween Parade
Monday October 31st 630p.  Free.  Kicking off from 14th Street and 7th Avenue at 6:30 pm. The parade will head north on 7th Avenue, turn left on 3rd Street and end in JJ Byrne Playground at the Old Stone House.

Tuesday November 1st

Soccer Shots Free Public Demo Sessions at WEWORK Brooklyn Heights
Tuesday-Wednesday November 1st-2nd various times for various ages.  See website for more information and to sign up.  Come join us for a free Soccer Shots demonstration at WEWORK Brooklyn Heights on the 12th Floor, where your child will get a full Soccer Shots experience! Staff will be onsite to answer any questions and assist you in registering for our mini winter program.

Kids’ Discovery Stations at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Tuesday-Fridays until November 4th 1015a-1215p (LAST WEEK!).  Free with Garden admission.  This is a drop-in program for schools and families with children of all ages.  Get your hands dirty at kids’ discovery stations throughout the Garden. Investigate and classify plants, learn how seeds travel from place to place, or uncover fossils of ancient plants!

Stomp, Clap & Sing with Yosi & Eugene at the Central Brooklyn Public Library
Tuesday November 1st 11a-12n.  Free.  Location: Dweck Center.  Eugene is a friendly, strong, exuberant monster who is misunderstood by nearly everyone!…except young children. Along with his friends, award-winning children’s recording artist Yosi, & puppeteer/actor, Johnny Beirne, Eugene can be your friend too! Songs, stories & great humor bring kids closer to understanding that being different is not just good; it’s fantastic!

Tots Yoga: Walkers thru 3 + adult at Bend & Bloom Yoga (Park Slope/Gowanus)
Wednesdays & Fridays 10-1045a.  $24 one child + one adult, $10 for each additional family member.  Class packs also available.  See the website for more information.  Your babe will celebrate the wonders of mobility, communication, and independent exploration with you in this joyful class. Animated animal poses and imaginative games help toddlers to recognize (and eventually repeat!) patterns and tap their budding creativity. Our tot-centric poses improve motor coordination, cognitive development, and socialization while kids learn about the wonders of their body. For walkers up to 3 and a parent or caregiver.

La Hora Mágica de los Pequeños at the Sunset Park Brooklyn Public Library
Wednesdays in November 330-430p.  Free.  Cuentos, Juegos, canciones, rimas y actividades divertidas para los pequeños de 1- 5 años. Programa bilingüe en español e inglés . Stories, games, songs, fingerplay, rhymes, and fun activities for Children ages 1-5 years old. Bilingual Spanish/ English.

United Solo Theater Festival: The Tale of Chef Kale at Theatre Row – The Studio Theater (Midtown)
Wednesday November 2nd 330-415p.  Tickets: $20.25.  In a world where nutrients are magical, a fictional little girl named Kale has a story to tell. Join Chef Kale as she explores self-care, identity, and develops a relationship with her food and her digestive system! This immersive show is filled with fresh fruit and vegetables recipes for everyone to taste!

Thursday November 3rd

Canstruction at Brookfield Place (Battery Park City)
Starting Thursday November 3rd and ongoing until Wednesday November 16th 10a-8p.  Free to attend.  An extraordinary annual design competition and the most unique food charity in the world, Canstruction challenges teams of architects, engineers, and contractors to build sculptures made entirely out of unopened cans of food. The large scale structures are placed on display and later donated to City Harvest for distribution to those in need.

Stomp, Clap & Sing with Camille Harris at the New Utrecht Brooklyn Public Library
Thursday November 3rd 1030-1130a.  Free. Join us in celebration of New Utrecht Grand Reopening.  Come dance along to “silly jazz” with comedian and jazz singer, Camille Harris. Popular songs include:” The Monster Under My Bed,” “Muffin Man,” and “Chopsticks.” Camille Harris on piano, Jeff Kerestes on bass, and David Tedeschi on drums.

Yellow Sneaker Puppet Sing-Along at Sir D’s Lounge (Park Slope)
Thursdays 1030-1115a.  $7 per child.  $10 per child and $5 per additional sibling.  Yellow Sneaker Puppets presents a 45 minute interactive singalong with puppets, combining original songs, oldies, and traditional children’s music. Sing, clap, dance, and shake your sillies out! Geared towards kids age 0-5 and their families.

Drop in Play at SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum (DUMBO)
Tuesdays 1-5p, Wednesdays 1-3p, Thursday 1-6p and Fridays-Sunday 1-5p.  $15/child.  SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum is BCM’s new art and play space located in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Designed for children ages six months to six years, SPARK features an outpost of our popular Brooklyn Block Lab exhibit, as well as daily art and design workshops, music classes, birthday parties, and more.  SPARK offers afternoon drop-in play hours Tuesday through Sunday. We have limited capacity. Walk-ins are welcome, as space permits, but we encourage you to reserve your hour-long play slot in advance using the calendar here.

Open Play at Edamama Cute Cuts & More (Williamsburg)
Tuesday-Sunday 1-330p.  Drop-in – $6 first child/$4 additional child.  10 Visits – $50 (single child pack) or $90 (family of 2 or more children pack) valid for 2 months from the day of purchase.  Join us as it is freezing outside. Luckily after a nap & lunch but before bath and dinner, you can now come to hang out and play with other 0-3 years olds at Edamama. Bring your friends and explore various award winning books, enjoy your free drink, play with toys in a warm safe, clean and enriching environment. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis!

Romp & Relax at Tot Town (Prospect Heights/Crown Heights)
Daily at various times.  Check website for schedule information.  Pricing: $12 per one child accompanied by caregivers, $6 per each additional child in the same family.  Class packs and memberships also available.  See website for additional information.  *Parents/caregivers MUST remain on the premises with their children at all times.  Home away from home! Kids of all ages and their caregivers have open access to Tot Town’s state of the art studio during specified hours. The grown up nook is equipped with comfortable seating and space to relax, as well as, special amenities for young infants to nestle close by. The kids zone is a mystical and exciting adventure land where a kid can truly be a kid! Come and explore our climbing wall, reading nook, dress up corner and more! Our Staff will be onsite to engage your children while they romp and parents and caregivers can take a break to relax with Free WiFi.

Mondays & Wednesdays 930a-12n, Tuesday 1-3p, Thursdays 10a-12n & Sundays 3-5p.  Closed: October 3rd–4th for Rosh Hashanah, October 12th for Yom Kippur & October 22nd for a Halloween Party.  $10/single drop in, $60 10 class pass or $80 monthly unlimited with 2 guest passes.  Open playtime for toddlers 4 and under. Parental supervision required.  Check the website for any schedule changes.

Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p.  Free.  The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!
