Free summer music programming in Brooklyn? Yes please!
Starting in June, and ending in mid-August the Fort Greene Park Conservancy is sponsoring a series of eight free hour long kid friendly concerts called Music in the Grove. The concerts will be on Wednesday mornings at 10am and the headlining act is the fabulous AudraRox. They will be located in the the Grove, which is the grassy area south of the Monument (where the Parents Around the Hill Easter Egg Hunt was). If you’d like more information on this concert series, or the other fabulous free programming (arts, storytelling, poetry, Bat Tours, Horticultural Tours) The Conservancy is planning for this summer, you can check out the Fort Greene Park Conservancy Facebook Fan Page, or stop by the Fort Greene Farmer’s Market (Saturdays) where the Conservancy will have a table. The Conservancy is looking for volunteers to help bring their programs to life, so if you’d be interested in lending a hand, stop by the Farmer’s Market Table and speak to them. If you are more interested in lending your monetary support, check out the Facebook Fan Page and learn more about how you can become a member and a donor. By the way, you get a super cute free T Shirt when you join – and yes they have kids sizes and onesies!
